Mettle Background

Mettle is delivered by a team of technology, creative, research and analyst people who are exploring new ways to approach the market and they have the backing and support of NatWest. This gives customers the security that a big-name bank is behind the venture.

Mettle was founded in July 2017 and is an app-based bank account that has been designed for sole traders and limited companies that have no more than two directors. The app has been designed to help new and small business owners to manage their finances with the resources they need.

They collect customer feedback and act on it where possible to improve their service to their customers. They limit their account so that they can stay true to support small and fledgeling businesses.

Switching To Mettle

If you want to switch to Mettle you can download their app and apply in minutes. When they have received your application, it will be reviewed and once approved you will receive an account number and sort code.

To open an account, you need to be a UK based company with owners that are UK residents. You can have an account balance of up to £100,000. They do not support government-backed loans or lending.

Their app is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Currently, Mettle is not part of the Current Account Switching Service so you will need to move all payments yourself.

Additional Business Services From Mettle

Mettle doesn’t currently offer any other services to businesses.

Mettle Business Service Availability

Mettle is designed for sole traders and limited companies with up to two owners only and applicants must be UK residents and over 18 years old. They don’t support some business activities and industries, so it is best to check their eligibility criteria.
