Cybersource was founded in 1994 to pioneer online payments and fraud management services for businesses. They catered for medium to large-sized businesses until they acquired Authorize.net to expand their remit to include sole proprietors through to large global brands.

In 2010, Visa acquired Cybersource which grew the business further with access to their global network of issuers and acquirers as well as the world-class security infrastructure. In 2019, Payworks became part of Cybersource which has helped them to unify commerce experiences and develop next-generation customer present solutions.

Cybersource has over 450,000 business customers across the world and offices in the US, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. They provide their payment management platform to some well-known brands including Utilita, GHD, Pizza Express, Just Park and Rue Du Commerce.
